 Sachin Tendulkar's cricket journey is one of the most memorable journeys in Indian sports history. He started playing cricket from a very young age and gradually made his place among the great batsmen of the world on the basis of his hard work and brilliant batting. Growing up in Mumbai, Sachin learned the nuances of cricket under the encouragement of his elder brother and the guidance of coach Ramakant Achrekar.

Playing for Mumbai in the 1988–89 Ranji Trophy season, Sachin scored a century on his first-class debut against Gujarat. After this, he entered international Test cricket in 1989 against Pakistan. At that time he was only 16 years old. In the initial phase itself, he demonstrated his technique and confidence in front of fast bowlers and experienced players.

The biggest features of Sachin's career included his batting consistency. He scored 15,921 runs in Tests and 18,426 runs in ODIs. He played 463 matches in ODI cricket. He has 100 international centuries to his name, which includes 51 Test and 49 ODI centuries.

Sachin's performance in the World Cup was also excellent. He took part in six World Cup tournaments and scored a total of 2,278 runs. He scored 673 runs in the 2003 World Cup, while the Indian team won the trophy in the 2011 World Cup. The 2011 win was special for Sachin, as he had been dreaming of winning the World Cup for a long time.

Sachin retired from ODI cricket in 2012 and from international cricket in 2013. In 2019, he was inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame. His career is still an inspiration for hard work, patience and dedication for young cricketers.
